Udaynarayanpur Madhabilata Mahavidyalaya was established on 25th July, 2006 under the auspices of the Udaynarayanpur zamindar family. The conception of this college was enabled by the far-reaching vision and generous contribution of this family and to them the college owes eternal gratitude. The college has been named after Madhabilata Devi of the Udaynarayanpur Zamindar family whose benevolence and ceaseless patronage of the cause of education made her a revered figure in the village. We feel her presence and her benediction as we pass her alabaster statue on entering this abode of learning. The college had austere beginnings in Bireshwar Balika Vidyalaya. Today it boasts a sprawling campus, lush with greenery, on the banks of the Damodar. Udaynarayanpur Madhabilata Mahavidyalaya is a NAAC-accredited, co-educational, government-aided college, affiliated to the University of Calcutta. The untiring efforts of educators and the enthusiasm of students make it an ever-growing and ever-developing institution. The college authorities are intrepid in their endeavour to ensure its constant development and teaching and non-teaching employees are assiduous in their efforts to guarantee the smooth functioning of the institution. Despite its rural location, the college is well-equipped with modern teaching-learning tools such as smart boards and e-classrooms. It has an expansive library automated with KOHA, reading rooms, laboratories, and capacious classrooms. Bolstering its belief that physical exercise, extra-curricular activities, and participation in sports are as important as classroom learning, the college provides for its students a large field, a music room, as well as an excellently-equipped gymnasium. It is our resolve to evolve with the changing times to ensure that Udaynarayanpur Madhabilata Mahavidyalaya reaches greater heights in the coming years, not only granting its students college degrees but also moulding their careers and their futures.
